On a scale of 1-10 initial impressions, 1 being the very worst, my balance is tipping towards the negative numbers.
You have finally, and with much hassle, transferred my domain bleeding-heart.net to your server. With further hassle, I have set up the hosting account. I have logged in and checked passwords and confirmed. I have called technical support and I have discussed some of this with you already.
Okay, simple enough, right?
Now here's where you're losing me. I can upload files to my website, yes? That's why I'm PAYING FOR HOSTING!!!!! (Pardon the exclamations, please.) I can also upload via FTP, actually, as far as I can tell, that's pretty much my only option, right? Okay.
Now explain to me why, when I log into my account and my hosting for my domain (all of which run through you), and I go into your FTP and upload my files. NOTHING HAPPENS.
Oh the files are uploaded. There's even a pretty welcome file that I can't open. All in the directory /RANDOMDIRECTORYHERE/
I thought, okay, maybe it's the wrong directory. I tried uploading to just /
Nope. Error.
Okay, I go to http://bleeding-heart.net/index.html the file I uploaded isn't showing.
I go to http://bleeding-heart.net/RANDOMDIRECTORYHERE/index.html the file isn't showing.
I try the same thing with the original welcome file that I can't see. Still, nothing.
Now, I am suffering e-mails and complications from the downtime of my site. Being fairly reasonable and respecting that there was a transfer delay and nothing can be done about that now, I dealt with it as best as I could. BUT WHEN I HAVE THE TRANSFER AND HAVE THE HOSTING AND I CAN'T EVEN UPLOAD A SIMPLE EXPLANATION NOTE ABOUT WHY MY ENTIRE DOMAIN ISN'T FUNCTIONING, I tend to enter the realm of capitals and exclamation points.
Again, please pardon the excessive e-mail yelling, I am trying to contain myself.
So, I go into RANDOMFTPPROGRAM, which I have used before. I enter my site name, password, and username EXACTLY as I signed up for and was sent to me in the conformation e-mail. RANDOMFTPPROGRAM, well, it can't make a connection with the server.
Color me even more confused. And frustrated. And hince the capitals and exclamations of this e-mail.
I hope that some of this information was useful in helping you identify the problem, so that it can be resolved soon. And by soon, I mean yesterday, since each second of this frustration is causing my life exceeding amounts of discomfort and my domain more and more problems.
Anyway, I would appreciate an explanation/help so that we can move our first impressions back up into the positive digits, though I'm sure your impression of me has just undergone some stress. My apologies for that. I tried my best.
