"This was a brilliant story, combining angst, humor, hot nekkid sex ~_^, and reality to create something completely new and (at the time it first came out) unprecedented. I was wary of reading this fic at first because I had found AU settings changed Buffy/Spike dynamics in unfavorable ways; however, I gave it a try, because, hey, Plummie wrote it ^_^. And wow, did she write it. Instead of detracting from Buffy and Spike's personalities (always a risk in wrting an AU), RWP managed to actually expand upon them in a more "realistic" way than the show (meaning, no vamp/slayer taboo keeping them apart, yet they still adopt similar attitudes toward each other). She also explored themes parallel to those in season six, though "Pride and Prejudice" did an infinitely better - not to mention more convincing - job. The bittersweet ending had me in tears, partly because yes, it was terrible and disheartening, but also because it was something that could actually happen, given a certain set of circumstances. My favorite aspect of this story was the startlingly real, gritty way in which it was written. And, yeah, the always lovely sex scenes ~_^. Ripe Wicked Plum is without a doubt one of the finest authors to grace fandom, and "Pride and Prejudice" is a perfect example of why." - Shiveta
